The singer in the photo above is my client Mick Maratta, lead singer of Sons Of Rhythm.

Mick and I originally had a discussion similar to the one you and I will have.

At the time Mick was bass player for his band and they had an amazing lead singer.

During our call Mick told me he his voice felt limited, and he wanted to sing effective backup vocals to support the lead singers he worked with.

Mick started from the very beginning, learning as he went. Eighteen months into his lessons with me he came into the studio with a big smile on his face. His band had made him the new lead singer of Sons Of Rhythm, replacing the amazing singer they had with him. He was really happy and his band and audience loved him.

There were two things Mick did that made him progress so quickly. First, he was very regular with his lessons. He never missed a session, and if he was going to be away he did a double lesson in a previous week.

This gave him big momentum in his growth.

The other thing Mick did was that he practiced what I showed him each day between lessons. This in between practice, combined with his regular times with me gave him the momentum he needed to grow into the kind of singer great bands wanted.
